Man Fatally Shoots Two Attacking Dogs

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A Volusia County man shot and killed two pit bull dogs Monday after they bit his wife and daughter.

Animal Control officers were investigating the incident that happened at a home on State Road 415 near New Smyrna Beach.

The homeowner told investigators the dogs were fighting and his wife and daughter were bit trying to break up the fight. The man then shot and killed the dogs to stop the fight.

Emergency crews treated his wife and daughter on the scene for minor bite wounds.
