Commentary: Michael Vick, dog fighting and the ASPCA

Dog Fighting and Society
The idea of dog fighting as a sport is comprehensible,A sport is a legal competition.I was raised in a home where dog fight,cock fighting, even stallion fighting was practiced on a regular basis.As a very young child I can still remember the terror in the eye's of the dog's.The scream of the horse's,and the cruelty of the cock fights.I was the child in the back ground crying,not for myself but for the animal's.I was the one who would wait till everyone left and go get the Rooster out of the barrel and try to heal it,or put the almost dead dog on a blanket,and drag it up under the house or hide it in the woods,while I tried my best to tend to it's wound's.I even held a beautiful gray dapple horse's head in my lap as it lay dieing.I promised myself that when I grew up.No one would fight my dog,horse,or rooster.there were other thing's I wanted to change but society said No,this is the way we say this should be.I grew up being told what race, color, sex was acceptable,to associate with.
Has anyone noticed that the one's doing most of the illegal (sport's) are on the upper rung of Society? As i look out my window,I see all 4 of my dog's laying around,they have no clue to this (sport).Or to the fact that I worry that they could be stolen to be used as bait.My horse does not worry about fighting,he was gelded before I got him.His only worry is when is dinner and to keep the chicken out of the hay.To call it a (sport) is so incorrect.I believe a real uncut video of these killings should be released.Not just a short clip.Should these people be forced into a ring and fight for their life? No that would be illegal.Does this reflect on the character of the participant's of these action's? I believe so.But maybe that is because I have witnessed these with my own eye's.But when I was a child,it was O.K. to take your child out of school to work the field's, or beat a child with a razor strap.Now it is illegal,it is called child abuse.But how many time's have we turned our head's to cruelty of one kind or another?.But this is my opinion.I thought it was illegal to abuse an animal,Or is it just if you don't get caught, Or how much money you have?
