GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- DNA samples have been collected from a man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend's dog by putting it in a hot oven.
A search warrant and affidavit filed in Brown County says the 20-year-old woman told Green Bay police that her ex-boyfriend was "extremely angry" over their breakup and was probably trying to get even with her.
The woman returned home Nov. 23 to a smoke-filled home. She discovered her 5-month-old dog in the hot oven.
The affidavit says the man told friends he hated the dog because he was allergic to it and wanted to get back at his ex-girlfriend by hurting her dog.
Green Bay detectives are waiting for test results from the state crime lab.
