BARNSTABLE — A dog that had been missing since a fire at the Cape Cod Animal Hospital earlier this week has been found.
The pug/beagle mix called Dutch was found at the Cape Cod Airfield in the Marstons Mills section of Barnstable this morning. The animal had been missing since Monday night’s fire when a veterinarian broke the kennel door with a cinder block to allow the animals to escape.
Barnstable’s animal control officer says Dutch appeared to be OK and was being evaluated by a vet.
Three cats and a dog died in the fire that the state Fire Marshal says was started by an electrical malfunction.
