It was a tough decision but after much discussion President Barack Obama and the rest of the first family believe they have decided on a first dog. First Lady Michelle Obama told "People" magazine the family is looking for a Portuguese Water Dog.

The Obama's like the dog's size. It's not too big, not too small. Most importantly, it's hypoallergenic, which is good news for 10-year-old Malia who has pet allergies.

The target date for the newest addition to the first family is set for some time in April after the Obama girls' spring break. No name for the little guy as of yet, but the first lady has already vetoed suggestions of Frank and Moose.

There could be on bump in the road though. The Obamas want to adopt a dog from a shelter, but according to one Chicago rescue group, they don't see to many Portuguese Water Dogs come through.
