NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Angel an adorable 6-month-old gray-blue Pit Bull needs your help.
Alice Stockton-Rossini reports
The dog was riding down the West Side Highway with his owner with the car window was open, and unfortunately Angel either fell or jumped out of the car.
He was run over by another car and taken to a nearby vet hospital where the owner discovered it was going to cost a couple thousand to save the dog and his front leg.
The owner "relinquished" Angel and he was headed for Pit Bull heaven, until the vet called the Mayors Alliance for NYC Animals -- dedicated to making NYC a no kill city by 2015.
They are affiliated with the Picasso Vet Fund that takes care of little pups just like Angel.
The organization has not determined whether Angel's leg can be saved, but in the meantime the dog needs some foster care.
