SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two dogs viciously attacked stabbed to near death have been euthanized Sunday evening.

Animal Control Officer Sarah Rohan told 22News a man at 529 Union Street went to feed his dogs around 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

The owner of the two dogs told animal control officers his two pit bulls wouldn't come out of their dog house and he went in to get them. That's when he made the disturbing discovery and called the police.

Lt Rupert Daniel said when officers responded the dogs were clinging to life. Severely stabbed and slashed with what appeared to a be a razor.

At this time there are no suspects in custody.
